Should I namedrop a manager from another division unrelated to the one I'm applying for?
I recently spoke to an open banking manager from a local bank during an open banking conference. we had a great conversation about the bank's future in open banking, and how I thought some of the discussed content could be applicable to areas such as auditing and due dilligence, he seemed impressed and told me I had a very strategic outlook.
The postition I'm applying for (M&A intern) is unrelated to his field, is it still alright to mention him even if its technicly unrelated, and should I contact him ahead of submitting my cover letter?
