Sophomore no work experience

Hi, so I finished sophomore year at an HYP but i have spent the majority of my time these years solely on my academic work (GPA between 3.8-3.9, SAT 2390) and do not have any work experience in relevant fields. I missed the deadlines for important summer analyst positions. I get that sophomores don't get a lot of offers, but I still want something to write on my resume. What would you guys suggest? How big of a disadvantage is it for me to go in to junior year and walk into a recruiting session or a college meet up with no work experience? Should I move on and look for an ordinary summer job instead like tutoring or try to find something through the university. Thanks!

I wasn't able to secure a internship following my sophomore year either, i instead waited tables and began contributing on Seeking Alpha, and used the money from waiting tables and Seeking Alpha to trade stocks. After my Junior year i got a decent internship but when it came to applying to full time jobs my work on Seeking Alpha and trading experience turned out to be the best thing possible and landed me my analyst role. My suggestion if you can't find a position, don't sweat it, just find something relevant that shows effort and hard work and you'd be surprised how much employers value seeing work done on one's own behalf.
