S&T Analyst transition after 8 months

Hi all,

Currently a 1st year analyst in the S&T program of a top BB. Sit in macro derivative sales and have been ranked as a top performer in our first review cycle. However, I am not at all satisfied with the actual work as a sales analyst (feels like I just chase the desk for prices and copy and paste in client BB chats/write trade recaps). I feel like I’ve reached the peak of the salesman learning curve, while barely touching the grasp of product knowledge that deriv traders have. I really regret not taking the other FT offer I Had (corporate private equity for half the all in comp 1st year). Thinking about resetting and recruiting for 1st year analyst programs at the turn of my first year at the bank. The firm I am at is very good at letting FO analysts lateral once they have put in 2 years to a senior analyst role but feel like I will be behind the curve of my peers in recruiting for PE/future roles. What options should I consider monkeys? Have put some resumes out to job postings for analyst roles but haven’t had much luck

Was a function of having two offers early senior year.. had thought working in a top sales group at a BB would be better than doing PE at a large corporate and future transferability. At that point did not fully understand what a sales role entailed more so thought it was a better name
