TAS versus Management Consulting?
I'm in a tough spot working as a 2C in B4 Risk advisory which is essentially glorified IA with a consultant title. Despite performing well at my firm, I realized this is not the place I want to be since the work provides little future learning/development. I'm essentially considering either networking to TAS or taking time to apply to MC positions via consulting prep courses.
I have a good chance to transfer to TAS within advisory at my firm which is basically FDD since I have good relations with the TAS partner. From there, I'm considering developing internally, exit to IB or corp dev.
Alternatively, I had a 30 min sales call with a prep course that essentially boasts an 85% break in rate despite various backgrounds into MC with 30% of those clients entering MBB. I think that consulting work would be more interesting but am a bit skeptical as to this program as its very expensive but doesn't really offer any hard skills. I've tried applying on my own but to no avail. Seeking perspectives on how interesting TAS work is and how easy it is to exit to IB/corp dev and this route to MC and whether MC is as hype as people make it seem.
