Technology Boutiques in SF jump to Bulge Bracket?

Just wondering how difficult it is to jump from a technology boutique in SF (Arbor Advisors, Leerlink, Atlas Technology Group, Vista Point Advisors, Aquilo Partners, Pagemill etc) to a bulge bracket firm in the area?

Any insights would be appreciated!

You'll need to network. A lot of the firms you mentioned are reputed to be more/less call shops, with junior bankers focused on business development initiatives and building out relationships. While those skills are useful at the senior levels, they are pretty useless at the analyst level in bulge bracket firms.

If you have some deal/modeling experience, start reaching out to analysts/associates in the Bay Area to set up phone calls or coffee chats and go from there. It will likely be difficult, as you'll have competition from MM IBD and lower BB analysts who may also want to lateral.
