Thoughts on having a resume longer than 1 page coming out of undergrad?

I'm currently in a huge predicament with my resume as I am constantly seeing people suggest limiting your resume to only 1 page. I'll be graduating this upcoming Fall from undergrad with 5-6 internships and a boat load of leadership experience, which in turn has been making it impossible for me to accurately portray my experience to 1 page. I was recently recommended several resume writers by an IB recruiter in order to polish up my content.

  • Does anyone have any experience working with a resume writer? If so, how much should I be looking to spend?

Any advice/feedback would be extremely helpful

You don't need a resume writer, those are for experienced professionals developing a CV. Start removing the least relevant content first and work your way up until you're at 1 page in length.

Don't read this maliciously but if you're having issues trimming down your resume you're in for a hell of time when you get on the job, this is easy street. It's tempting to want to make sure you have every angle covered but quality > quantity - there is no way everything you have included currently is necessary in order to seal your personal pitch.

Size 11 with 1 inch margins on all sides. Resume over 1 page is a dealbreaker.

Cut your internships down to 3 (preferably most recent 3, but keep an older one over a newer one if the experience is much more IB-relevant) and condense your leadership. Combine lines for leadership if you have to, emphasize the impressive ones and double up the lines/delete less impressive or older ones.

What are your sections titled and what info do you have in them?

That sounds fine. If you can fit it all on one page with size 8 it'll probably fit with size 11 if you delete a few less relevant jobs
