Thoughts on In-Person Resume Drop?

What are everyone's thoughts on in-person resume drops? Is it ambitious? Too try-hard?

A company I really respect and would be grateful to even get an interview with recently had a job posting for a position that I think I might be a qualified candidate for.

Was contemplating showing up in person to their office and dropping off my resume, but I'm not sure if it would possibly help my chances of even hearing back from them, or if I would get laughed at and had my resume thrown in the trash as soon as I walk out.

Would not recommend this... I doubt you would make it past the receptionist. If you are qualified, show it in your resume and send an email or two expressing your interest.
