Thoughts on resigning at the one year mark.

I’m coming up on a year at my first job out of college. )

I’m really struggling mentally being away from home and am not sure how to proceed. I originally wanted to lateral into an IB analyst role after a year, but now I’d really just be content with an average FP&A role.

If I resign with no job lined up at the one year mark will this be something that will set me back significantly?

I know it isn’t smart, but I’m in such a bad place mentally it seems inevitable.

How about taking a week or two of vacation? Hopefully that can help you reset a bit. Would strongly advise not quitting without anything lined up. Especially in this market. But you know your situation best and if your mental health needs tending to then do what you have to do while being aware of the potential consequences.

Do you have friends in your areas or hobbies? If not maybe try putting yourself out there a bit.
