Time Sensitive - Consulting to ER
I have an exploding offer for a Healthcare Consulting company right out of undergrad. My long term career goal is to work in Buyside ER position. Has anyone been able to make a transition from an industry specific consulting role to ER before?
I am worried that I would be pigeonholing myself to a career in healthcare/consulting if I accept this offer. Would that be the case if I worked at the company for only a year?
I would take the offer and try to lateral. CFA would help
Thanks for responding. I want to explore both sides of this. I am particularly worried about transferable skills. I know that the role and responsibilities would not directly transfer to AM/ER. Even with the CFA, wouldn’t it be better to wait for an opportunity that has relevant experience?
I think the odds of finding a full-time role in AM/ER at this point in the recruiting cycle are slim, so safer to take the offer in hand and if you find a better role you can consider reneging
I'm sure you can do consulting-->SS research-->buy side. Sounds like a background Bernstein would like.
