To soon to leave my job?

Hello,

I have been in my current role for about 4 months but do not enjoy the work and dread coming in most days. Also, they really don't have much work to do so some days I just have to watch the clock and surf the web. My boss really likes me though and I would feel bad leaving so soon, but will he understand if I take another job offer so soon?

Thanks

You don't want to burn a bridge (and leaving after 4 months might), but this isn't the most pressing question to ask. Your first worry is what this does to your resume. You need to weigh your desire to leave early against the fact that you'll need to explain away the short duration in this role as you try to interview elsewhere both now and further down the road.

If you do leave, you'd better make sure that you'll be able to stick it out wherever you land next.
