Told my boss that I wanted to lateral to a different group in the firm and he denied me because my group is understaffed. My job is more than safe but I'm concerned that my bonus come next February will be cut even though I am doing a good job. If I do lateral to another group/firm, I will probably stay until at least next February. Thoughts?
