Too late for freshman summer internship?

For context, I'm a rising sophomore at a target in NYC. Really slacked and fooled around freshman year (GPA 3.25) and now I don't have anything finance related lined up. I've been doing cold emails for VC and PWM firms but I'm getting the feeling that maybe I missed my chance. Am I sweating it or should I just ramp up my outreach efforts?

Keep reaching out but it might be a bit late for this summer (can maybe try and get a virtual search fund internship or smth). If I were you, I would try to find a part-time boutique IB/PE internship (shouldn't be too hard to find given you're in NYC) for the upcoming fall semester so I'd have something additional to put on my resume regardless of how this summer goes down.
