Transition Public Equity to IB, PE, HF

I had my FT offer from a MM Boutique rescinded and I haven't had any luck finding analyst openings at other banks; consequently, I'm thinking about institutional asset management (i.e. mutual funds, public equity pension funds, etc.) since some analyst positions are currently open. Does anyone know how difficult it is to transition from being a public equity analyst to IB, PE or HF? My alternative plan is to continue my IB job hunt (I've cold called basically every boutique in Canada) and trying to do fall recruiting as an alum; if I don't get anything, then I will look at other options. I'm in Canada btw.

Background: Recent grad (Cdn. non target school), internships in IB, PWM and VC, GPA 3.7/4.0. Completed CFA L1.

Thanks for the replies.
