Valuation Controller position in banking (financial products)

Hi all,

I would like to ask advise about a potential career move.

I have been working at a Big 4 as a Corporate Finance / M&A analyst for the past 2 years in an Eastern European country, have a MSc in Finance and have passed CFA level II. I have received an offer to join a major bank in western europe (benelux) as a Valuation Controller.

Based on the interviews this is a Middle Office role, in which I would perform indepedent price verifications for fair valued financial instruments (mainly bonds and derivatives), mainly colaborating with front office and risk.  Compensation is nice, and while I find this interesting, I would like to ask about growth opportunities and potential exits. I have found people on Linkedin that have left for portfolio management within the same bank and other companies.

Thank you!
