Value of College Education outside Career Placement
I like to believe I will be learning something important from school that will make me a more successful person in life. Its true that 90% of what you learn in class material will be not used in your job.
If given the choice, what would be more important?
A program where you learn from cases (business strategies) everyday and developing presentation skills.
Or
Analytical skills (engineering/math/CS)
An argument can say that if you don't learn analytical, you will probably never go back to for it and that if you start with the analytical side, you can pick up the other skills after.
But then again, people that don't go into the analytical side, don't go in for a reason: they don't care and need it.
What are your thoughts?
