Want to move cities. Wait to move or start looking?

Hi monkeys,

I started an associate role at a PE firm in NYC recently. However, I grew up a secondary city which I have recently felt a strong urge to move back to . I've hopped around a bit - one year at a bank and one year at another private equity firm before landing my current role.

I moved back home for the crisis and it has made me realize how much I appreciate living here, especially being closer to my family. Frankly, I dread moving back to NYC and want to be closer to home as soon as possible. My question is pretty simple: is it too early to communicate this desire to recruiters given it has only been a few months and I'll seem like a job hopper?
