What is the future of finance?

Hello Monkeys,

I am a freshman/sophomore student at a semi-target (elite public) who is starting to gear up for finance recruiting. I was wondering what the forum believes will be the best jobs/careers in finance down the line, or what I should explore as I apply to various internships and job programs in the present. I find most broad areas of finance interesting, but I want to start finding my niche based on experience and personality.

So far, I have portfolio management experience (Less than $2 Billion fixed income) and I found that to be a very interesting internship. I also have interests in the HF, PWM, VC, S&T, and PE worlds as well. Should I consider any other career areas? How do I find my niche? I'm a little lost as finance is such a broad, interesting, and competitive field.
