What now?
Please go light on me since I'm new (or not I can handle it)! This question has probably been asked and answered several times over. Currently I am a freshman at a non-target (small college in Florida) and so far, I've set myself up fairly well (I think) with extracurriculars; college sports, accounting club, investments club, etc. A High school GPA of 3.7, and meaningful coffee chats and connections with people in different industries (VC, Accounting, Public equities to name a few). So far its only my third week of classes, but I feel like I can do more, but how? Also, I have applied for 2 internships thus far, and am aiming for 10 by the end of the month (mid size firms, any relevant internship in my freshman summer is my goal currently).
Transfer.
My priorities are still on playing college sports, so far I love the school since it has resources for the right people if you put in an honest effort. I'm still playing around with the idea, but for now, I wanna see how I feel by the end of the first semester. I'm also an international student so I haven't fully researched the logistics of transferring.
Hey man, you should listen to the above. Is your priority college sports or is it breaking in? There are any number of strong schools with terrible athletic programs if you're that worried about playing college athletics.
I think as of now, I'm more so about college sports. So its definitely difficult to compromise and find a school that fits both my needs. I'm applying for the honors college at my current school, which I hope will help me a bit more. But I've definitely considered some other schools like Macalester college or Haverford. Thanks!
Who?
Small schools with good academics, but the tennis isnt so good.
Take a breath and enjoy first semester of your freshman year, if you're really devoted to doing smtg, then start grinding technicals ig...
Sounds good. I think I'll stay here and find a internship in the summer (hopefully), then transfer into my Sophomore year. I'm grinding networking, modelling (so far low-level DCF models are the furthest thing I've done, plus some online courses from WSO and Forage) with any spare time I have.
