What’s the youngest acceptable age for a Summer Analyst role ?

So this summer, i'll be applying for SA 2023 roles in London, and given that I started uni quite early, I'll be 17 when applying and 18 when beginning the Internship. Will that be a hindrance to my chances of getting an Internship or is it irrelevant ?

Ps: I go to a semi-target so, not ideal

Cheers

This is a tough situation. I think you have to be 18 to even apply for internships, for legal reasons. If you put your age and you're not 18 no one will even see your application.

You will also have people looking at you sideways in interviews being so young, unless you totally look/act 21. I'd try to delay your graduation at least one semester so you're not a minor when applying

^im assuming this person is American, double-check to see if the age thing is an issue in the uk. (It might be)

that's not an issue lol. being a different age is fine and you can legally drink at 18 in the UK anyway... OP won't be 18 when they apply so will probably be automatically rejected or something.

What if i just don’t tell them that i’m 17 ? Would that be okay ? Because that’s what I did for some Springs and it went well, plus my CV is quite good so they could assume that i’m not a minor ?

If you’re in the UK, I think u’ll be okay because the average applying for SA is probably 20 so ur not far off

You need to be over 18 to be part of the internship. However, in the UK, I believe it's illegal to recruit based on your age and they - usually - never ask your age during the application process. They sometimes do, but it's only to identify you and is not taken into account during the recruitment process. As long as you are 18 before signing the contract, you should be fine. Would double check tho, don't quote me on that. I'd apply for Spring Weeks if I were you

It really depends. Some people that went thru the Spring route got their offer as early as May 2021. I personally got mine in October and some of my friends got it up until January/February 2022...

Most offers are sent out in September/October I'd say
