"What's your biggest weakness/failure?"

I'm in the process of prepping for IB and VC interviews and I'm struggling to come up with a good answer for the biggest weakness/failure question. I don't want to give some bullshit like "I work too hard" or "I overthink everything."

About a year ago, I worked to commercialize technology developed by my college, and dealt with lots of academics on a daily basis. It was a big deal for me and I wanted to impress them, and without realizing it, I acted like I knew everything to people with decades of more experience than me just because I had some previous exposure to the vertical, and I guess I gave some of them a bad vibe. My mentor who led this wing of the University intervened and told me I was acting like a dick and it kinda sobered me up. I started listening (and sucking up) to the people I was working with and eventually realized I need to learn more than I need to teach. Eventually, everything worked out fine and I catch up with the same people all the time now.

Here's my issue. I learned from it and it's an authentic story, but I don't want to leave the impression that I have an issue with disrespect or give the vibe that I'm full of myself because some people have told me that occasionally I come off as it without meaning to. I could spin this story into something about how to lead etc etc but I just don't want it to swing the other way and leave the interviewer doubting my ability to work with superiors.
