When should I quit???

They are going to fire me, which I don’t mind I am gonna quit anyway. The question is when, ofc I need to quit before they fire me.

I don’t know if they are going to fire me Dec or sometime this month

I know if it’s not a hug difference between Oct and Dec general speaking, but it is for me in this case - I don’t have the offer yet and I wanted to minimize the gap as possible as I can.

The best is I can still be a pita and don’t have to quit, but the hunch told me it’s not possible, and firing me is on their agenda and they are gonna do it soon.

What should I do???

Why do you even bring up PIP? If someone is gonna fire u, they are gonna fire u directly with or without pip.

I just think they are gonna , they have reduced my plate significantly and were doing transfer and prep works for somebody else to take my works

Unless you are about to get fired for cause, always let them fire you... you usually get several months of severance in exchange for agreeing you won't file any sort of wrongful termination lawsuit. If you quit you get $0

Why are you being a pain in the ass if you don't have the next job lined up yet and are worried about a gap? Recruiting becomes very very challenging if you don't have a job currently... do your best to hang onto your job until you get an offer

Why would it be challenging (I ask cuz I haven't had that experience before, quitting before I have an offer)

In my shoe for now, I suspect that there are plenty of people quitting their jobs before they have one due to variety of reasons, and it wouldn't be that much of a factor as long as you stay there more than two years

I wanna quit cuz this job is really draining to a point it started interfering my job hunting procedure, I even think as long as I have the job, I can't prep interviews well.

I really wanna conceal my resentment of this role, but it slides, and I am pretty sure the current management can tell implicitly

People in IB/PE are just extremely biased against those who don't currently have a job. No real reason for it. It just becomes infinitely harder to recruit without a job. It's a huge factor and you will get way more interviews if you are employed

I would buck up, put a smile on your face and get your work done. Recruit on nights and weekends. Look at this as a 4-8 week period of a lot of hard work to get this done

In the same situation and ended up quitting without anything lined up. Was nearly impossible to recruit/job hunt while still at my previous firm.

Financially I am not worried but I am concerned with having a “gap” in my resume. I’ve heard mixed things about having a gap on your resume (i.e., some firms don’t care as long as it’s not excessive and you have the skills/experience for the job). Just an FYI, I can tell you the job market is not great right now and I would expect it’ll take some to get a new job.

So you are saying you have been the experience before, quit before you have an offer?

How’s the experience like for you?
