Where should I aim to land ?

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I digress, I want to end up in either LevFin or PE. Currently at a regional bank ($~150bn) as an analyst in their 2 year training program, what group/vertical should I try to lateral to that would help me best with aforementioned roles. Would a MM group suit me better than a Midcorp group? Or perhaps a Fund finance role? (Note: fund finance group does not appear to do any work that involves NAV facilities. Most of it seems to be excel graphs and pitchbook research for Sub lines only). I thoroughly enjoy modeling and financial analysis so not too sure where I should be aiming.
