worth taking M&A?
I have an internship offer from an M&A shop specializing in tech. They are not an investment bank per say because they only do 100% cash M&A deals. With that being said, they still do some 300mm+ deals and have sold companies to big boys (Msft,Intel, Carlyle, etc). If I want to get into ibd eventually, would this be a good opportunity?
to assess whether an opportunity is "good" or not, you have to present alternatives. If you don't have any alternatives then this is your only choice.
The internship would be unpaid, but the alternative is sitting on my ass.
I guess I was just looking to see if it would help my future chances for IBD or if it is a waste of time?
What else is on your resume? Do you have any other experience? I would say take it, so long as your bank isn't named Blackmore Partners lol
Just two small private equity internships. Fortunately it isnt Blackmore Partners haha, but I am just a bit concerned because technically it is not an investment bank, more like an M&A sell-side advisory firm (though they do advise on some fairly large deals)
