WSJ: How important to read?
Hello, I am an upcoming sophomore looking to break into investment banking. I have consistently heard about how important reading the WSJ is daily and gaining a personal perspective on the market as whole is. I have yet to get into this habit and feel like it will bite me in the future. Should I start dialing down now on reading daily, and if so, which sections in WSJ should I read? (Business, Markets, U.S, etc.?)
Bump
You don't have to read WSJ specifically, but you need to be ingesting some sort of financial news otherwise you're not gonna have a clue what's going on. Whether it be Bloomberg, the FT, WSJ, CNBC, Twitter, Podcasts etc. - find a style you like and maintain your awareness. Read whatever you're interested in and frontpage headline news.
I prefer the Financial Times. Whatever it is, keep up with the news.
WSJ has become more like mainstream news in recent years. Unfortunate. Read the FT and Bloomberg.
