A Modest Career In High Finance?

I'm moving into my new place which is rather nice, decently (for NYC) spacious and am thinking, is anybody else here because they enjoy it???

I don't deal with my direct boss much, but jumping a level up it kinda seems like the guys do.  I'm guessing that one of the guys is 'take it or leave it' living near work, but the other guy bought a beautiful place (assuming) that he'd never leave NYC. (if you can 'touch grass' in your own back yard in Manhattan, why go elsewhere?)

Thoughts?  (Disclaimer: me and one of the traders are both new homeowners)
