Am I depressed?

I realize after 2 years on the job now that I really don't enjoy my life much anymore. I don't look forward to the next day at all and even days off are pretty dull for the most part. I force myself to dress well and workout so I look relatively fine, but sometimes people say my face looks sad. I don't feel sad, but I don't feel much at all.except for anxiety. I started seeing a girl recently and that does help.

Nobody's always excited all the time, so it depends on your personality. A way to put things in context is to have a "big plan", in terms of where you want to be in your career and life in 10 years, and the small everyday moves required to get closer to that.

Another way as mentioned by the poster below is to clear your mind to relax - partying, dating, gym, video games. Except for video games, this can also be a contributing factor to where you want to be in 10 years, socially speaking.

Been there, worked 2 years in IB in BB. Everyday is the same and I have no vision on how the future looks like.

The thing that i did was just forcing myself to a hobby. For me it’s actually playing video games and hiking. Then at least every daybi can look forward to something ( playing vidya ) and every weekend i can go on a hike. Feels good to have a goal no matter how small it is

Fwiw i also have depression but its more about my expectations on life, not because of the work

Here are some things to spice up life a bit:

- weed

- gambling (poker or sports betting)

- MMA, BJJ, Muay Thai

- Triathlon sports (swim, run, bike)

I don’t think you are depressed, I think you are lacking purpose. I can’t help you find it but I do recommend a visit to your local church, God helped me find mine and my life has been much better since.

Amen.
