Anyone here take Propranolol / Beta Blockers for Anxiety?
Curious if anyone has experience. I still get really nervous in big meetings, interviews, and other high pressure situations. Often I'm not really anxious but suddenly I'll feel my heartbeat rise etc. which derails everything. I figure taking beta blockers could help the physical reaction and over time I'll just get acclimated / get rid of any nervousness and no longer need them. Anyone tried this before?
Just take CBD waayyyy safer and probably more effective
Seconded. I took propranolol for a while in college, stuff just made me feel bleh. CBD was an absolute game changer for me.
Is CBD something you can take daily regardless of how you feel? Or do you just take it as soon as you feel anxious?
Milton has no idea what beta blockers are. They're not benzos. They don't have a psychoactive effect. What they do is they block the release of adrenaline into your bloodstream. Because of this, they'll limit the physical effects of anxiety, but not the psychological ones. In your case taking propranolol may be effective, since you basically have stage fright.
The only reason not to take propranolol is if you have asthma.
Prospect has no idea what CBD is. It's not THC. It doesn't have a psychoactive effect. What it does is it reduces inflammation in part of the brain related to anxiety and fear. Because of this, it'll reduce the physical causes of anxiety, not just the symptoms. In your case taking CBD may be effective, since it mitigates the root cause of anxiety of any form and frequency.
The only reason not to take CBD is if it makes you too drowsy or if you're one of those rare people with nearly non-existent endocannabinoid system.
Seriously OP beta blockers have wayy too many potential side effects and complications with other drugs and substances to be a good option nowadays.
