Best note-taking app to stay organised

I have a lot of notes and snippets across my various devices for different projects (work & personal) that I am working on and I have become so scattered that it's hard to track my notes. What is the best note-taking app that you have come across so far that can cloud-synced to both phone and desktop?

I would recommend OneNote or Evernote. Personally I used Evernote all throughout uni and I was really pleased with it. I have even been using it a lot after graduating, e.g. notes for recruitment interviews. Good sync / compatibility between my laptop and mobile, so I mostly do the notes on the laptop, but can easily access them on my phone, when I need them. Works well, if I have to step out during the day to take an interview over the phone, where will not have access to my private laptop. Just go with the freemium model. Premium is a bit steep for what you get in my opinion. I have a close friend who used OneNote instead and was equally happy with that solution.
