I didn’t throw MS, but just look at this. Politico is reporting that the White House is directly reaching out to upstream O&G to get them to increase production. They’re also considering releasing the strategic reserves.

Politicans are morons when it comes to propaganda. The output production of the US O&G industry hasn't really changed much except new output capacity was put on hold on government lands. What happened was this moron we have as a president decided to push a policy that massively ramped up speculation and created a green light for oil producing nations to cut production to drive up price. But the idea that ideologues can deduce that 2+2=4 and not 5 is asking too much of their mental capacities.
