100%, the best way to balance an unbalanced balance sheet is to set up a new column that takes the difference of two years (20X1 and 20X2), then reconcile all your changes in the BS (e.g. AR goes up $100 year-over-year) with a corresponding entry or entries in the cash flow statement (increase in AR of $100 year-over-year). Then highlight both in green if you've got a match. Continue this until you've found your discrepancy. Do the actual cash balance last in your sequence.
Plug other current assets, guaranteed no one will even notice.
Or, you could actually look through the cash flow statement and reconcile those line items to your balance sheet and income statement. That should uncover your mistake.
