Commercial / corporate banking to private debt/DL fund
Seen a lot of posts recently about the private debt space which has me interested. Is it common for commercial or corporate bankers to make this move given their experience in credit? Or would it be advisable try to break into a leveraged finance or other IB role before making the switch?
