I’ve met a bunch of people in finance in NYC who like to unwind after work with a little 420. Not sure what the big deal is.

Some funds and banks actually have pretty progressive HR policies now, especially post-pandemic. Legalization in NY has shifted perceptions too. As long as you’re clean for any compliance-related stuff (if tested), it’s more about judgment and professionalism than strict abstinence nowadays.

Every. Damn. Day.

I can tell if an employee is a pothead right away. As soon as I figure it out, I work to have that individual fired.

WTF is wrong with you

Not sure that’s the best use of energy, tbh. If they’re meeting deadlines and bringing in results, does it really matter? I’ve known bigger liabilities who were totally sober.

Anyone try pot gummies or chocolate bars before?

Yeah they are good, just don’t overdo it and take more when you think the initial ones didn’t kick in and then they all kick in at the same time and you’re blown out of your mind.

Honestly, the fact that the same crowd that microdoses mushrooms and pops modafinil is also casually blazing after hours is peak finance energy. Balance sheets by day, blunts by night.

I'd be shocked, in 2024, if the people you work for actually care about recreational weed. Don't show up to work high, like you wouldn't show up to work drunk, and you'll be fine.

Nobody would care if you smoke weed but having a reputation as a pothead would ding you for sure.

What is worse - pothead or cokehead?

I’ve been through a similar thing when I had to switch careers and was worried about cannabis use showing up. In the UK, weed’s still technically illegal, but CBD is totally legal and widely used, even by people in demanding jobs.

If you’re just looking to manage stress or stay calm without risking anything on a drug test, switching to this cbd oil might be a safer move. It doesn’t show up on standard drug screenings, and it helps take the edge off. That’s what I ended up using when I had big interviews lined up. No issues since.
