Did I just fuck up really bad?
I was in an online meeting with three coworkers and didn’t realize I was drinking out of a mug that said TRUMP 2020. It’s really old and was the only clean one for my coffee. It was at the start of the meeting, two had their cameras off and maybe weren’t paying attention yet? I took one sip before noticing. I took one I would say longish sip before immediately putting it down. Heart dropped. Can’t focus on work rn can’t do my job I’m tweaking so hard. Since I had spoken “good morning guys” my screen may have enlarged. Idk I’m tweaking bad rn. None were my manager. One has been there for only month longer than me, one has been there for one year longer than me, one is older but we are on the same team. I know I’m dumb, I know I’m an idiot, I know I’m a moron, etc. should I have expect them to start running around telling everybody or people? Am I fucked or overreacting? Going to post in IB for exposure but i don’t work in it

To be honest, I am so tired of people being cancelled because of their political opinion.
Over the last two years, I became more and more conservative (I'd previously label myself as centre-left).
Oct-7 and the response of liberal parties and media was another contributing factor for the push in this direction.
Unless you're true radical people should be more inclusive of people with other opinions.

Nobody cares anymore and take it from a Native New Yorker. Most people in finance understand why folks vote Republican and the tax benefits. However that does not mean they are aligned politically to all issues etc. I would let it go and if someone says something say my crazy uncle's cup haha and move on :)
