Easiest Olympic Sport
I have 4 yrs to train until the 2028 Olympics in LA. What sport gives me the best shot? I'm thinking dressage or shooting. Possibly handball, but I don't think I'm athletic enough.

Side note: I'm open to getting African or Mexican citizenship if that makes my path to the Olympics easier.
If getting African citizenship then swimming
I used to compete in Boardercross Snowboarding in regionals and nationals, which would be my best chance at getting into the Olympics.
That's sweet
Yeah bro was a lot of fun, only part that sucked is that you check in and have to wait around for 3 hours for your heat to be called and the actual event is only a couple minutes, similar to other sports.
Women's boxing apparently.
Or if you're a guy competing in women's boxing.....
Put me in coach
Equestrian has some of the oldest athletes, so if you’re a young buck with time and money you could be formidable. The more niche the better, too.
Anything which requires money. It lowers the pool of potential competitors massively. It isn't right or moral I guess, but there's no "equality of opportunity" when it comes to dressage, and kids in state schools aren't being pulled aside in state school gym class because they're showing a talent for it.
gotta be shooting. people rightfully shame US for the lack of shooting medals at the olympics given that it's the only country in the developed world where guns are legal and anybody can pick it up as a hobby.
Step 1. Identify as a female
Step 2. Shave your body
Step 3. Grow long hair
Step 4. Enroll in boxing classes
Step 5. It’s 2028 and you’re an Olympic gold medalist making your country proud.
Either be first, be smart or cheat. Brother we cheating
Since I'm going to assume this is a hobby, we should pick something that might be sort of enjoyable too. I don't know about you, but I personally don't enjoy getting punched in the face. I don't care who it's by.
The country that you're competing for also makes a big difference. Competing for team USA is tough, but there might be different challenges for other teams. A friend's "little" brother just missed getting on the '08 US wrestling team in the 95 kilo class. He has dual citizenship, and says he was better than most of the Polish team, but wasn't picked because of politics.
I'd say the best shot is to go for a high bar to entry ($$$) sport in a country that isn't known for it to begin for. (so don't move to Kenya and try to take up distance running) Even better if it's a team sport where you can coast on the performance of your teammates. (I'm pretty sure either US basketball team could win with me on it, and I'm 5'10" and unathletic)
With all that being said, does anybody want to try to join the Jamaican Bobsled Team? One for the running, two for the show, three to get ready and four to...."
Do you think that’s why Leon Marchand preferred to swim for France rather than the US?
He’s fully French - competes at ASU as an international student
I was in the Olympic trials for a sport that was pretty niche and one of my friends just won a bronze medal in Paris - there are definitely sports you can pick up later in life (like high school) and have an opportunity to make it.
If I had competed in a different country that was like super niche like Bermuda, 100% chance I coulda made Olympics

That's legendary. What sport?
The one where you shoot sharp things at things very far away
become a korean citizen and do flag football for south korea
