IMO most moms make better food than restuarants. Quality food+ nostalgia is hard to beat

Do you mean like an every day chef or an on call one? My parents have one they’ll use 1-2 a week if they’re hosting people, think it works out to like ~300 a head for the meal and the chef covers groceries, with the price scaling down as you add more people.

As far as full time chefs, know a partner in VC that has a full time one who cooks 3 meals a day for his family. The chef is a full time employee so he’s paying something like 100k a year for salary and benefits, which doesn’t even include food costs. Pretty insane expense

If you can afford it, there are plenty of companies that send you pre-made meals that you just have to heat up from frozen or from the fridge (these are more the daily/bi-weekly delivery companies) which are pretty much made to order by you based on your subscription model. No effort in cooking, much more personalized but cheaper than a chef. Look into this.

Anyone here who works in IB/PE hire a private chef? How much does it cost and which company do you use?

I am equally interested in the answer to this question.

SafariJoe, wins again!

And is it really necessary? Why not just eat at a restaurant or let's go to McDonald's? I think even this option will be cheaper than hiring a personal chef.
