How often do you get sick per year?

One thing I’ve noticed since starting work is I’ve been getting sick much more often. In college, I maybe got sick once a year, if that. Now, I’m falling under the weather at least 2-3 times per year which has been really frustrating. Luckily my team is pretty understanding and I can work from home, but it’s still annoying.

I attribute it to elevated stress levels, lack of adequate sleep and less frequent exercise. Was wondering if this is happening to anyone else / how to prevent it.

As someone who gets sick enough to even feel sick generally only once every couple of years, I can tell you that a lot of it is genetics.  All else equal, lack of sleep / proper diet / exercise / high stress will all negatively affect your immunity.  But can't really say I have fallen sick more after I started banking vs prior.  Some people are like that with sleep, they can consistently get 5 hours of sleep and be no worse for wear.

Probably get a cold 2-3 times a year and either work through it or work from home. Once a year or maybe once every 18 months I get sick enough to take a full day off

Not many ways to undo lack of sleep and high-stress lifestyle. Make sure you are eating well and lots of greens, a multivitamin doesn't quite cover all the micronutrients vegetables give you. Do your best to get good sleep on earlier nights from work and weekends... even if that means taking a melatonin at 9pm and getting 12 hours of sleep

Usually 2-3 times a year like everyone else is saying, often around seasons changing or big travel/holidays. Probably like 1-2 sinus infections and 1 strep/bronchitis a year.

Who talks like this in real life? Who jumps into a random conversation and starts projecting their cuckholding fantasies? Do you have any friends? Have you ever touched a woman?

The absolute fucking losers on this site, I swear.

I usually get sick once a year but I feel like I'm also getting covid once a year now. So effectively, I'm getting sick twice a year these days.

I don't know if others have experienced the same thing or if this will persist forever but imagine the productivity loss over a long period of time if you're permanently sick one additional time per year forever. Thanks China!

Just a reminder - taking 5K to 10K IUs of D3 per day will keep your immune system in tip top shape.

Arent 10k too much? Taking 3k, would you recommend 10k?

I get the 10K daily gels. You should at a minimum take 5K.

Things I've noticed as I've gone through my career:

- could be depending on how you get to work. Train/bus/subway, it can be tight quarters, if someone is sick you may pick it up.

- a lot of it has to do with taking care of yourself as you stated. Really it just boils down to recovery, and if you're not doing the proper things to recover you're not helping yourself.

Could be a mix of a lot of things. I remember when I first started working in NYC I would get sick every winter, probably mix of public transportation and lack of sleep. I noticed during COVID winters I didn't really get sick and I attributed it to being less on public transportation. Since then, Im back on the transportation but I feel I sleep better, so I've been getting less sick thankfully.
