How to change watch bracelets/straps without scratching the back of the lugs?
Anyone here a pro with watches and is a watch enthusiast? How do you switch and swap straps/bracelets without scraping or scratching the back of the lugs?
Do you use masking tape? Burgeon Starter Kit? Do you practice on a watch to train and have a steady hand? What do you people do?
Also, ever had a grail watch you wanted for awhile and finally bought it to only be scratched up when sized by the AD?
Thanks,

get a spring bar tool and its fairly simple. I've never scratched my bracelet using it
If you’re using straps and changing them frequently, you should just order some quick release spring bars in the lug width of your watch. Can change with one hand in a few minutes.
Changing metal bracelets is tough, though. You will need a Bergeon tool. Even easier to use a watch bracelet plier tool to extract the spring bar and bracelet. Of all the times I’ve scratched the back of a watch’s lugs it’s been when trying to reinstall a steel bracelet. Lot of bracelets nowadays have super tight fitting end links that are tough to install even with the right tools.
