Kylie Jenner (Kardashian crew) no longer a billionaire
Anyone see the hit piece on Forbes?
"Then there were Kylie’s financials. Revenues over a 12-month period preceding the deal: $177 million, according to the Coty presentation—far lower than the published estimates at the time. More problematic, Coty said that sales were up 40% from 2018, meaning the business only generated about $125 million that year, nowhere near the $360 million the Jenners had led Forbes to believe. Kylie’s skin care line, which launched in May 2019, did $100 million in revenues in its first month and a half, Kylie’s reps told us. The filings show the line was actually “on track” to finish the year with just $25 million in sales."
What do you think this outcome will be?
Billion with a B you called it a couple years ago.
"Edit: Had some time this morning to dig through the numbers. Here's what I found strictly relying on the numbers in the Forbes article. If we assume a DLOM range of 30%-50%. Maybe the ER guys will correct me on this. I find her company's valuation to range between $260M and $730M. All below figures in thousands $.
*Updated using bobthebaker's EBITDA multiple after DLOM method"
I mean, this is completely irrelevant to anyone's actual life, but it also shouldn't come as a surprise.
I concur. I think at this point I have assumed any and all celebrity-style-tabloid-millionaire/bazillionaire/gazillionaire BS is rooted in completely false and highly questionable underlying support.
This is vital stuff bro.
If I ran through the math again I'd bet it's lower than $900 given the numbers discussed in OP. But I don't feel like it lol.
She's the least deserving of the sisters next to Khloe. Either Kim or Kendall should be the near billionaire, not her...kind of funny how they are also the most attractive..;.
How did you come up with this least deserving - most deserving scale?
Kim is the brand ambassador of the Kardashians. Without her, they wouldn't exist. Kendall is a model and tries hard whereas Kyle shows her lip injections off. Khloe doesn't do anything...Kourtney just thinks she's better than everyone because she is older than them all
Using the Deserve-It Scale, patent pending
Great Question!
Deserving is what the market will pay you for - if you think a business deserves to get paid and doesn't get paid, it must be due to the market forces.
We are talking about revenue generating activities here. Kim or Kendall only deserve what the market forces will give them. Its all supply and demand. Kylie supplied the market with something it demanded and made a profit. Pretty simple here.
Yeah, that's very true. KEndall didn't launch anything...ugh, Kendall should have been the one to do it...I think Kris realized Kylie doesn't really have muc hgoing for her cuz she's not as attractive as Kendall so they probaly did this all for her. Kendall has got her model looks and could go into acting so she is set regardless. Kendall and Kylie are going to be the next Kardashians in 10 years b/c the other three are getting rather old...
Take this thread to Instagram, or whereever it belongs.
What I couldn't believe when I first saw this story back in 2018 or whatever it was, it looked like she was credited with building a billion dollar business at 20 based on 1 year of sales. It was hype. Now we know Coty is just a poorly managed company.

It's so weird when you think about what the family is originally known for. Pretty cool they managed to spin it into a ridiculously large op.
I mean, I respect hustle. If you can sell ice to an eskimo, do it.
If you mean the trail that they were basically upper middle class with the father as a lawyer, involved in the OJ scenario, had the sex tape, parlayed it into what it is now. I respect that; everyone says they could be the Kardashians (sic) but how many people could keep the empire going?
Smart, yes, cool, not really. I can't knock the family, because if people are buying what your selling, why stop selling. I fault the people who buy into it. Maybe the people viewing them should figure out a better use for their time. I mean, I'm reading articles today ether about riots or how people three weeks out of work can't pay their bills. Dunno if these people correlate, but I'm sure some do.
Goes to show how little celebrities matter in our actual lives...
The problem is that media pays news to report on celebrities, knowing that people will look at sensational things. I wonder if we'll look at celebrities differently now because of this pandemic
Also, wonder how celebs are makin gmoney now like esp actors since musicians could release music online still....
