LinkedIn Job Description

Hi everyone, want to get your opinions about writing the descriptions in the job section of LinkedIn. I've seen people with short 1-2 words (e.g., M&A/ Strategy), others with resume bullet points, and some a full blown paragraph.

What do you think would be suitable? Thanks!

Hey Good-Ad28, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:

More suggestions...

If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

I think i depends on recognition both for the company you work in and the job you do here. If you work at a well known/pretigious firm and have a job where basically everyone in the industry knows what you're up to then I guess you can be very succint in your Linkedin and let the brand name + job name do the work (while detailling on your CV). On the other hand if you work at an unknown company with a job that most people aren't particularly familiar with I guess you might want to give a bit of explaination to people so they know what you're doing. (Bullet points do the jobs for me and over explaining can be mildly harmfull).

That being said Linkedin is like the instagram of the corporate world and the goal is to "showcase", I personnally always thought people that "cool" people with pretigous jobs and schools tend to say less as the name says it all for them especially when a bit senior. but at the same time, as a student, I like seeing a detailled linkedin where you can easily picture yourself in the job and see if it suits you.

I hope my answer could help!

Hopefully I open a bar when I'm 40.
