Linkedin users rejoice - "woke CEO" Dan Price facing rape charges, stepping down

Is anyone at all surprised that something like this happened? Even if you agreed with his message you could see this coming a mile away. Dude oozed psychopath. Anyone engaging in that much obnoxious performative self-promotion is hiding something. This accusation is pretty egregious but multiple other women have accused him of bad behavior. He was also accused of abusing his ex-wife, but people just ignored that after his 50th linkedin post about the minimum wage

Apparently even the "CEO cuts salary and pays employees $70k" line that got him famous is suspect. He was making millions as a smallish company CEO at the time and his investor brother sued him over it. He slashed it dramatically, gave it to the employees, and then went on a self-promotion tour.

would bet all of my $ that he is an actual DSMV psychopath

I called this over a year ago. Nobody who preaches so much about how virtuous they are and how corrupt everyone else is is not a freak behind the scenes. Fuck this guy.

"The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly" - Robert A. Wilson | "If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion

You do realize that argument applies to more than just "woke" positions, though?

How many conservative politicians point fingers and allege "Deep State" corruption, how they'll "drain the swamp" and then turn out to be worse and more corrupt than the incumbents?  How many Larry Craigs have there been, or Mark Sanfords?

I think the concept that a person shouting that loudly about their virtue, whatever it may be, is probably hiding something, is a good rule to live by.  I just don't see how it can possibly be considered a phenomenon exclusive to or even more common among "woke" liberals.

There is almost no one posting conservative stuff on LinkedIn or having (issue of the month) flags hanging from their door who are conservative buddy boy

Not sure what hanging a flag has to do with anything.  And for what it's worth... conservatives fly plenty of "issue of the month" flags.  You can argue that conservatives invented that game; they fly Confederate Battle Flags to show their disdain for minorities and love of white supremacy, they fly Thin Blue Line flags to show their support for police murdering minorities, they fly Gadsden flags to show how they think anyone criticizing them for all the hating and murdering minorities stuff is trampling on their rights.  Those are absolutely "issue of the month" flags, the same as a pride flag or a Ukrainian flag or anything else that you consider woke virtue signaling.  Voluntarily flying any flag, up to and including the Stars and Stripes, is virtue signaling by it's very definition.

I mean, the lack of self-awareness is frankly breathtaking.

Your specific issue was with "virtue signaling".  I guess the only virtues that can be "signaled" are liberal ones?  You seem so desperate to make it seem as though only liberal people or liberal positions can be hypocritical, which is some pretty stunning hypocrisy in and of itself.

Good Christ you are insane

Nice rebuttal.

Don't complain about "woke" hypocrites if you can't acknowledge the hypocrisy on the other side of the aisle.  This dude is a shitheel and maybe a criminal - if you want to tie that to his political beliefs, that's fair play, but don't call me insane when I turn it around and spotlight your own hypocrisy

No, this is nothing about the debate. Your comment is literally frothing at the mouth nutso

OK, then tell me what a Confederate Battle Flag represents, remembering the context of when people started flying it.  Tell me when the Thin Blue Line/Blue Lives Matter flag began being seen in public.  If you can't make the obvious connection between Southern Lost Cause revanchism in the first place, and a kneejerk defence of the police who murdered (many) black men in the second, you aren't paying attention.  If the only "Southern heritage" someone flying the battle flag cares to honor is the part where they went to war and committed treason in order to maintain the right to enslave black people specifically, and not say Southern BBQ (which I'd get on board with), then what other conclusion do you draw?  Celebrating the Confederacy is celebrating slavery of African people, because the Confederacy came into being for the sole purpose of enslaving black people.

Even taking that out of it, you obviously didn't think this through when you brought up "flag(s) of the month" because if you had, you'd have realized every flag is signaling a virtue of some kind.  Or every one that is flown voluntarily by civilians, at least.
