MLB - One Step Closer

Nothing is final but it looks like we will have a baseball season starting in July. The proposed plan would include 60 games starting towards the end of July. I believe the players union initially rejected the 60 game schedule but at this point, I do not think they have much of a choice. They have contracts and if they want to get paid, they will need to play some baseball. I am not taking sides here, as I am just glad that it looks that we will get to see some baseball games. I am getting tired of watching recorded games and Shark Tank.

I read on ESPN that the National League with have DHs and if a game goes into extra innings, teams with start with a runner on second base. How odd.

I haven't read a thing about if they're going to allow fans in the stadiums like usual though, so I'm assuming they are - which is also incredibly odd given the state of the pandemic.

The guy on second is weird and that is what they do in the minors. The DH makes more sense, although I am not a fan of the DH concept. I realize that the games might be more exciting with more runs but I think the DH takes away from the strategy part of the game.

I'm psyched. Lots of weird things can happen in baseball over short stretches, so even our total loser M's might get hot.

On the other end, there's a 60-game cap on losses. I don't see a downside here if you root for a bad team.
