when will you get a break?
Like 2 months. Mid january through mid march.
About 6 months and I had many, many, many problems. At the end of it I completely collapsed in my kitchen and went to the doc. I told myself I’d stop. Then I did it for nearly 2 months two years later. Now I’m really done. Take care of yourself, health problems are no joke.

Back when I worked in the mines, I was stationed in middle of fucking nowhere. We worked for eight weeks straight, fourteen hour days, seven days a week, and no breaks.

Not that I’m romanticizing or condoning it by any means but, prior to all of this protected weekend Gen Z WLB pearl clutching, working like this for months at a time was the norm, especially in really sweaty shops/groups. Consecutive 16 hour days where you’d need to time your adderall doses around your pre-scheduled nap times. Not a way to live at all but it wasn’t unheard of

lol, I am joining a bank where there are no protected Saturdays, and the group is a well-known sweatshop. Kinda worried about it tbh.
