Mountain Bike Recommendations

Looking to start doing some mountain biking this year, curious if anyone had any full suspension mtb recommendations. I live in the midwest so I'll be doing a lot of riding here but plan to make some trips out west to hit up some beefier terrain; trying find a good all rounder. Ideally want a 29er with 120-130m rear travel / 130-140mm front travel so I can have fun on the flatter terrain the midwest has to offer but can still handle a trip to Colorado. Probably looking to spend about 5k so I can have a carbon frame with some decent components. I've done a shit ton of research and I think I've narrowed it down to the Santa Cruz Tallboy or the Norco Optic C2 but curious what others might think. As a side note I come from a BMX background so this type of riding won't be too foreign to me as I know my way around a bike and I'm 6'2", 200lbs.
