My MD asked me to bring illegal substances to a work party

So I am a first year intern at a major canadian bank. My MD secretly asked me if I can get some
'white powder' for a work party, since its external based. I was wondering if I should do it or not. I think it could get me credibility with these guys, and they'd respect me. Let me know your opinions.

Someone who would ask the internet this question doesn't strike me as the type of person an MD would feel comfortable asking for coke.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

My dad's friend who was an institutional sales guy in the 80's told me some unbelievable stories about this subject. I think you are in the wrong decade though.

Well yeah, that was the 80's on Wall Street.

And if you think coke still isn't around you live under a rock

Even if it has changed I guarantee you there are still kilos of white powder flooding all the way down from NYC or London skyscrapers. I saw here an interesting article describing quite accurately how bankers kids and first year analysts spend their nights at Hong Kong (http://www.danwei.org/crime/coked_up_bankers_of_hong_kong.php) . Not sure if relevant anyway.

I'm not sure it is very popular in the banking world nowadays. On the other hand be sure that showbiz people haven't changed their habits.

Are you saying this still doesn't exist...? It's just not as out in the open as it once was, but just as prevelant.

@Bobb -- what he said.

Frank Sinatra - "Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy."

I'm not talking about brokers openly doing coke... I'm talking about something that would probably get me banned for going into the details of. A well known firm doing a lot more than turning a blind eye to cocaine.
