I’m wondering who’s going to win my fantasy league now

I realize that the health issues are very important but I am still disappointed that the NBA suspended the season and that other teams may take similar actions.

First of all, this is literally fake news. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28887560/nba-suspends-season-furthe…</a">The NBA season has been suspended, not cancelled.

Second, social distancing is important, and no one should be going to large public events - concerts, sporting events, political rallies, etc. The reason isn't that the disease is particularly dangerous to the vast majority of people who aren't elderly (although it is 10x more deadly than the flu) but because you need to flatten the curve of the spread as to not overwhelm the healthcare industry.

This contains fake news. Wuhan flu is not 10X more deadly, that is a false premise based on death vs confirmed cases. Confirmed cases likely accounts for 5% of actual cases, this is a demoninator problem. We don't have an easy and accurate way to test for COVID-19. The tests we have today aren't even that accurate. We DO NOT KNOW how many people have the virus. The numbers are based solely on assumptions and extrapolation of a tiny number of data points. The CDC says their best modeling puts the death rate at 5x higher at the absolute highest upper limit and think that is is actually in line with the normal flu. The only major difference is that people can spread with out expressing symptoms and that the virus can hang around on surfaces longer than the seasonal flu.

"heister"This contains fake news.

No it doesn't, unless you use the Trump definition of "fake" as "politically inconvenient."

10x is a conservative estimate.

“Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.” -WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

Are there tons of unconfirmed cases in Iran, Russia, China, and the USA? Certainly, but you work with the data you have and can intelligent extrapolate from there.

"heister"We don't have an easy and accurate way to test for COVID-19. The tests we have today aren't even that accurate.

"We" as in humanity do have an easy and accurate way to test. South Korea is doing an excellent job. China has already slowed the spread.

"We" as in Americans unfortunately do not, due to the incompetence of the Trump administration and the insistence that we create our own test, leading us to lose weeks of testing.

"heister"We DO NOT KNOW how many people have the virus. The numbers are based solely on assumptions and extrapolation of a tiny number of data points.

You're repeating yourself and inaccurately claiming that extrapolation of data implies inaccuracy.

"heister"The CDC says their best modeling puts the death rate at 5x higher at the absolute highest upper limit and think that is is actually in line with the normal flu

This is just patently false.

"heister"The only major difference is that people can spread with out expressing symptoms and that the virus can hang around on surfaces longer than the seasonal flu.

This is also flat out false. That is hardly the only difference between the two diseases.

For anyone else reading this nonsense, https://www.who.int/dg/speeches/detail/who-director-general-s-opening-r…</a">go read the WHO Director-General's speech for yourself.

MLS and NHL too. All major NCAA Conferences tournaments are cancelled. We'll see about March Madness.

Edit: Love this getting monkey shit. Clearly everything here is factual and not opinion-based. Heaven forbid someone criticize Dear Leader's response though or not stick to the Fox News script on the virus.
