Nice professionally run buildings in Manhattan

I’m going to move apartments in the spring. Work in midtown and live on the UES. Currently paying rent by check to the landlord and I want to be able to just autopay a portal every month. It’s not a huge hassle but I used to work in fintech and I hate writing checks.

I’m doing a casual preliminary search and seeing a lot of options but I’m wondering if there is just a list somewhere of the legit buildings on Manhattan that are professionally run? By a company not an individual.

If anyone has had a good experience with a doorman building let me know. My current place is a walk up and I’d prefer something nicer. Budget like 3000-3500, one person don’t need a ton of space.

I can’t believe my rent went up to $2,800 in a LCOL area. I’d rather be in a smaller place like these for $3,000, jeez.

Good luck on your search.

I also live in UES, and work in Midtown.

If you focus on 5th/Madison/Park blocks, the price will be very high. However, if you go beyond Park (heading away from the park), the price tends to drop considerably.

Check out a few buildings near Sapphire/60th. I think some of the condo buildings offer rentals that are corporate-managed by the management company (not entirely sure of details).

Check out 401 E. 60th St. (Bridge Tower Place). They have a few studios that rent for upper $3k/mo range. It's the building with a Starbucks near the entrance.
There are a few PE people who live there, and work in Midtown -- also, I think another studio will be available soon, after a certain Associate gets fired, so keep an eye out.

I had assumed that the rental units there were priced a lot higher; but apparently, the some of the studios aren't bad (relatively speaking). I know someone who claimed that she was paying around $3,700/mo, but I'm not 100% sure if that's accurate.

Check it out, or look at some of the other buildings around there.

I hope that helps.
