As someone who was born and grew up in Manhattan, you really need to venture out to the outer boroughs if you want some authentic and slapping food. Here are my thoughts
Personally find Sunset Park/Flushing to have the best asian in the city by far. Chinatown has lost its touch compared in those neighborhoods (Brooklyn/Queens respectively).
Similarly Jackson Heights is the best Indian in the city. Curry hill has some good spots, but the value and flavor you get in JH is sick.
Forgot what its called but some super sick hole in the wall Italian places in the UWS. Will hop back if I remember. If you want the best food in NYC, you need to step out and explore.
Agreed. Most people will suggest places that are in Manhattan. The outer boroughs have great restaurants for pretty good prices.
