NYC Summer Sublet - Or Finders Fee ($4.5k budget)
Hello everyone!
Last-minute my summer sublet backed out on me and I am desperately searching everywhere for a summer sublet. I am hoping to find a FURNISHED 1 BR / Studio / Private room in Manhattan for under $4.5k/mo. I have looked everywhere on FB/CL/Leasebreak etc. It is extremely dry right now, thought I would resort to WSO.
I am looking for June - Mid August. Interning at a BB and am very quiet/clean. please let me know if you have any leads - I am willing to pay a founder's fee of up to $500 if you know a place and help me connect to them which I end up taking.
Open to p much any location. Preference to those with close subways to midtown east. Need to be furnished. Work station would be dope.

Try StreetEasy. Took about 3 weeks from me contacting a real estate agent to move in.
Thanks for the suggestion I have tried doing so but the availability is very bleak right now in this market. Most are only looking for 12 month leases.

You should search for short term rentals in nyc. I see a few that have 3-12 month lease terms, but I haven’t reached out to any places. As an example 95 wall st (just a random example) shows 3 months leases, I would reach out to a bunch of the rental places quickly.

not an ad I've just seen about 5 furnished sublets on there today alone. may want to offer above asking price (most of these are WELL under $4.5k) since there are so many people looking.
Great group! I am very active on there but most ppl I have seen are looking for female tenants or year lease. gonna keep trying :)
It's been tough af. One more suggestion to add to the pool - Listings Project. It's a website I stumbled upon that sends out a newsletter with sublets every Wednesday and apartments there are pretty sweet. It caters more to the artsy crowd so there's a lot of Brooklyn etc., but solid finds overall.
How and why are you planning on paying up to $4.5k a month as an intern, I don't have any leads but I've never heard of any intern paying that much... my room is $1600
Trust me - I would love to not pay this much but its either this or live 45 minutes away. The supply is bleak.
Do you think you are having trouble due to the fact that you need it short term or are people moving back to NYC? Which one of those do you think is affecting your search more?
Mix of both but heavy on the short-term lease in the summer. Lot of these units got filled by fellow interns. Essentially trying to find a needle in the haystack: someone going abroad for a few months or is moving out and doesn't care about their furniture and is willing to leave it.
I think you might be able to get some places on AirBnB in Hell's Kitchen for around $3500 per month.
