Prospective Company called my girlfriends place of employment and ghosted her after
Just got a distressed call from my girlfriend apparently her manager pulled her aside and said someone called the front desk to “confirm her employment” and say she might be leaving soon to join their summer program.
She has checked all her platforms and no one has given her an offer yet and she hasn’t even interviewed.
She is currently working full time at a financial advisor and we don’t know why someone would do such a thing.
Her manager just scheduled a meeting with her first thing tomorrow morning and she’s worried she might get fired.
Is this normal? Why would someone do this?
We might genuinely sue if she gets fired but we need to know what company it is

No legit firm would provide this information to a front desk employee (or to anyone, really).
Shouldn't be difficult to explain that it's a bad prank.
yeah if ur gf is attractive some jealous dork might be pulling a lame prank.
You’re on WSO dude, and it’s some dweeb going to the internet to ask for advice about his “gf”. 60% chance there is no gf, and if there is one, 100% chance she’s not attractive.
