Seeking Advice: Navigating a Corporate Shake-Up and Career Roadblocks

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice as I try to navigate a difficult time in my career. Recently, my firm went through a significant shake-up in leadership and management, and many of the long-time senior managers (15+ years) were let go. Unfortunately, my mentor and direct manager was one of them. He chose to resign before the inevitable happened. Since then, I’ve been left in a bit of a limbo, essentially managerless and trying to find clarity in a very uncertain environment.

Morale is at an all-time low, and while I’m doing my best to stay focused, the lack of transparency about the firm’s direction has made things harder. I’ve been exploring other opportunities, applying to over 500 roles over the past few weeks across various industries and fields for new challenges, even ones outside my comfort zone. Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck so far, which has been discouraging.

One question I keep coming back to is about my second remote part-time role. Could this be a red flag for potential employers? Should I remove it from my resume, or is it worth keeping there to show transparency, versatility and adaptability?

For anyone who’s been through something similar, how did you approach it? Is it better to stick it out and see where things go, or should I continue doubling down on the search elsewhere? And if you’ve faced these roadblocks in the job hunt, what helped you turn things around?

Thanks in advance for your insights and advice. I’m really trying to make the best of this situation.
